Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM) -- It's an exciting day for the Northland's growing aviation sector.

AAR Aircraft Services began operations today by welcoming its first plane Tuesday morning at its new location in the old Northwest Airlines facility.

AAR will be servicing Air Canada's fleet of 89 Airbus A-320 Series Jets, creating a total of about 225 jobs with another 135 to come in the next year.

The agreement with Air Canada will provide service for the next five years.
