Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The AT&T Tower in Downtown Duluth is coming down prompting the city to close off a portion of West First Street for up to four weeks.

Starting Wednesday, Viant Crane, the subcontractor , will begin moving in large, heavy equipment between 3rd and 4th Avenue West.

The city says its working with impacted businesses to make sure there is minimal interruption.

Sidewalks on the upper side will be open to pedestrian traffic but sidewalks on the lower side will be closed.

AT&T recently decommissioned the tower and no longer needs it.
