St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The UMD student found unconscious in subzero temperatures in Duluth last December is finally resting at home.

19-year-old Alyssa Lommel underwent surgery at Regions Hospital in St. Paul followed by a short stay at a hospital in St. Cloud.

Her CaringBridge webpage says Lommel returned home earlier this week and is doing well walking on her own, but needs someone to be there to help her.

Lommel had her fingers, some toes and part of her feet amputated due to hypothermia and severe frostbite.
