(NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Monday, upheld a District Court ruling saying Jim Carlson, owner of the Last Place on Earth in Duluth, is responsible for paying the costs of extra police patrols in front of his shop during business hours.
Carlson says he has spent about a quarter of a million dollars since the city ordered the extra police.
The Appeals Court also ruled that Carlson will not get the money and guns seized by authorities during a raid of his shop two years ago, until all the criminal hearings are finished.
If he loses those battles Carlson says he probably won't ever get his property and money back.
Carlson's attorneys have 30 days to appeal both decisions to the Minnesota Supreme Court.
