Ashland, Wis. (NNCNOW.com) -- The Ashland Ore Dock is one step closer to having a new owner.
The Wisconsin Board of Commissioners of Public Lands approved a lease agreement between the city and Canadian National Railroad, which currently owns the dock.
City Administrator, Pete Mann says they hope to have the lease squared away by May 31.
City officials hope to open up the dock as a fishing pier which is part of a larger conversation to redevelop Ashland's waterfront.
