Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Two Cloquet residents are behind bars tonight after police found a large amount of drugs and a number guns in a Cloquet home.
LeAnn Wallace is following this story tonight.
Cloquet Police say the major bust was part of a year–long investigation.
Authorities found nearly 30 guns and $100,000 worth of marijuana after they executed a search warrant at the home.
This is a look at some of what was found in the home and in a nearby building.
At the site officers located what they're calling a sophisticated marijuana grow operation with two rooms full of marijuana plants.
They also found a large amount of processed marijuana.
Authorities said guns were hidden around the home and in the growing rooms.
"The property owner had loaded handguns, virtually in every room in the residence. At any arms length as to where he was or they may be sitting, they had some type of loaded fire arm nearby." said Cloquet Police Chief Wade Lamarande.
Police confiscated additional items they believe to be linked to the illegal operation.
"We also recovered a sport car, luxury cars, a bay liner boat, snowmobiles, four wheelers, portable generators; two almost brand new looking generators were located on the property."
One man and one woman remain in the Carlton County Jail...they both face charges of felony possession of a controlled substance.
Officers from the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Fond–du–Lac Police Department helped without with the investigation.
Chief Lamarande said both suspects were cooperative throughout the arrest.
