Child Injured in Highway 61 Crash

Duluth Township, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A 9-year-old boy was brought to the hospital following a car crash north of Duluth on the Highway 61 expressway.

Nobody was seriously injured, but several agencies responded to the accident near Homestead Read around 7:30 p.m., Friday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2008 Chevy SUV rear-ended a 1995 International septic truck in the southbound lane of the expressway.

The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old Duluth man was not injured. His son, the front seat passenger, was brought the hospital and treated for leg injuries.

The driver of the septic truck was not injured.

Multiple agencies including St. Louis County Sheriff, Minnesota State Patrol, Two Harbors and Clifton Fire Departments all responded to the crash.
