Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - As warm weather takes more Northlanders outside, Twin Ports police are reminding those getting there by car to not become a victim of vehicle prowls.

Tips include keeping your vehicle clean, and valuables like purses, wallets, and phones out of plain sight.

If you must leave valuables inside your car, lock them in the trunk instead of keeping them in the glove box.

Also, keep cars locked and windows up, and park in a well lit area.

Police say the opportunity for vehicle prowls substantially increases as the weather gets nicer.
