Bail set for two men charged with first degree murder in Cass County

Cass County, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- Bail was set for two men charged with attempted first degree murder at $100,000 in Cass County court on Monday.

On August first, 22–year–old, Sheldon Armstrong III and 18–year–old Travis Paquette, allegedly assaulted and stabbed another man near Cass Lake.

Along with attempted murder the two men are also charged with kidnapping, second degree assault and theft of a vehicle.

Their next court appearance is August 11.

According to the criminal complaint, Cass County authorities arrived at a residence near Cass Lake at 2:45 a.m. on August 1st.

Officers spoke with an adult man who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.

The man said Armstrong and Paquette tried to kill him and also stole his vehicle.

Paquette was arrested two blocks from where officials found the vehicle. Armstrong was arrested at a nearby residence.
