DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - It was another political show down tonight between Republican Tommy Thompson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin.
Both are fighting tooth and nail to win the open Wisconsin US Senate seat.
This debate was as heated as their last.
This is a race that's being focused on by both Democrats and Republicans. Experts suggest it could decide which party controls the U.S. Senate.
When talking about the Affordable Care Act Friday, Thompson said it taxes the middle class and talked about what he believes is the right way to approach healthcare.
Baldwin said he should look at the bill because much of what he said is in there.
Recent campaign commercials also came up focusing on the attacks on 9/11.
In one, Thompson accuses Baldwin of not supporting a bill honoring victims of September 11, which had language she felt politicized the day.
"That bothered me, five years after that. I was there. I saw that. I held those people and still to this day it haunts me," said Tommy Thompson.
"I am outraged that Tommy Thompson would question my patriotism. He has personally profited from 9/11 and now he is trying to politically profit from 9/11," said Tammy Baldwin.
This was the last debate between the candidates before the November 6 election.
