"Ball Slasher" Violates Probation, Sentenced to Prison

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth man dubbed as the "Ball Slasher" was sentenced to 27 months in prison Thursday.

Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Neil Bjerkness, had pleaded guilty to 3rd Degree Burglary for breaking into the Chester Creek Academy Fitness Center and slashing exercise balls in 2011.

Judge Mark Munger sentenced him to prison because he violated the terms of his probation.

He was credited with serving 284 days of his sentence.

Bjerkness has several previous convictions for breaking into facilities to slash exercise balls, an action described as a sexual fetish.
