Beach Advisory Still in Effect for Hearding Island Canal Beach

June 25, 2013 Updated Jun 26, 2013 at 10:04 AM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Beach goers are still being advised to stay out of the water at the Hearding Island Canal Beach on the harbor side of Park Point in Duluth.

Elevated E. coli levels were detected in the water at the beach and may indicate the presence of fecal contamination.

The water was resampled on Tuesday and levels were still elevated.

If you become sick after coming into contact with the water at the Hearding Island Canal Beach, you are asked to call the Minnesota Health Department.

The beach is scheduled to be resampled again on Wednesday.
