Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) – Today is Black Friday which is the largest retail shopping day of the year. Customers have been lining up at stores waiting for those great Black Friday deals since last night and this morning.

According to a Consumer Federation of America and Credit Union National Association survey, people plan to spend more money shopping this year compared to last.

More than 200 people stood in line yesterday night for Best Buy’s 6 p.m. store open. Best Buy was open all night and into the morning; they will close at 10 p.m. today.

Best Buy employees say more people showed up this year for Black Friday compared to last due to last year’s snowstorm. A TripAdvisor survey shows 45% of Americans plan to take a Black Friday shopping trip, a 12% increase from last year.

Reporter Ramona Marozas spoke with a shopping veteran who has participated in Black Friday for a decade, as well as a Best Buy store manager to learn more about the day.
