Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew into Duluth Wednesday morning. They came to work out details for the upcoming Duluth Airshow.

The Duluth Airport saw a visitor it hasn't seen in a few years.

"I flew in about 25 minutes ago. They pulled this in where it was nice and warm so I appreciate that." Said Blue Angels Pilot, Ryan Chamberlain.

He came to Duluth to work out details for the Duluth Airshow in late August. It was announced back in November that the Blue Angels would have a spot in the show.

The Blue Angels haven't been in Duluth since 2008, but they say they're excited to return.

"It's exciting to bring the Navy and Marine Corp. around to places that don't get to see us very often so I know you've got Lake Superior right next door, but you probably don't have a big Navy presence nearby." Said Chamberlain.

Their visit will be part of a 2014 Navy Week in Duluth. The week will bring all sorts of navy themed events to the twin ports.

"With Navy speakers, musical acts, other sailors. I don't know how many assets we're gonna have right now, but we're gonna bring a whole bunch of other folks up here because people don't know this, but Minnesota is rich in Navy history." Said US Navy, Lieutenant Ron Flesvig.

The Blue Angels flight team is currently in training in Pensacola, Florida to prepare for the show season. The group will perform 120 training flights prior to their first aerial demonstration in March. The angels fly into the twin ports August 23rd and 24th.
"We're excited to meet everyone here and hope they come out to see the show." Said Chamberlain.

More than a dozen other performers will join the line-up for the airshow which promises to be one of the biggest in memory.
A complete show schedule will be released closer to the show date.
