Bob the bobcat heading back home

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Good news for a rescued bobcat that came close to cutting his nine lives short after being discovered with a snare trap around his neck.

Bob the bobcat, as he has been named, was released Friday morning to return to his home territory.

Bob was discovered by a northern Minnesotan couple on their property earlier this week. The bobcat had a snare caught around his neck, and that it was slowly tightening, causing a deep neck wound.

Wildwoods Animal Rehab, with approval of the Minnesota DNR, was able to live trap the 23 pound bobcat, remove the snare, and nurse him back to health.

Since then, Bob has happily devoured pounds of donated meat during his recovery before being released today.
