Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- In a traditional celebration of spring in the Northland, Fitger's is now hosting its 20th annual Bockfest.

The word bock means "goat" and is an ancient symbol of winter.

Over the next few days Bockfest will feature a variety of fun events for Northlanders.

Activities include nightly campfires, beer courses, and if you're brave enough, jumps into Lake Superior.

"It's not exactly ferris wheels and pony rides, but it's a nice time, you get to be outside in the fresh air, people like to collect around campfires anyway, ya know all summer long, so this is like your first summer campfire. And it's a nice mellow time," said Dale Kleinschmidt, head brewer for Lake Superior Brewing.

Bockfest events will continue through Saturday evening.
