Update: Identity of Cabin Fire Victim Released

Sawyer, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Authorities have released the name of the man who was found dead inside a burned out cabin on Wednesday.

50 year old Raymond William Smith of Cloquet was found dead inside the cabin along Mission Road after officers were called to the scene of a fire.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner has determined that cause of death was accidental smoke inhalation.

Officers were called to a structure fire along Mission Road in Sawyer, MN which is about 10 miles west of Carlton, MN around 6AM Wednesday morning.

The cabin was destroyed by the flames and Smith's body was found in the remains of the cabin.

The fire remains under investigation.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Cloquet Area Fire District and the Fond du Lac Police Department all responded to the fire.
