Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - After months of planning, and just enough sunshine, the Brighton Beach Art Fair organizers are calling their first event a success.

Hundreds of Duluthians and North Shore travelers took advantage of Saturday's nice weather and purchased one-of-a-kind art from Northland artists on-site along Lake Superior's shores.

The Brighton Beach Art Fair attracted more than 20 vendors who sold everything from jewelry to popular children's books.

The event organizers say Saturday's art fair gave customers and artists an opportunity to share ideas and connect with one another.

"On the customer's side, they are thrilled to meet an artist. They might see their work in a gallery and say, 'oh that is... I always liked her work,'" said Lake Superior Entrepreneurs partner Penny Clark, "but when they get to meet the artist it makes a ton of difference as to how they feel about the art work that they are purchasing, because they had a one-on-one with the artist."

Organizers say they are looking at making the Brighton Beach art fair an annual event.
