St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The President and CEO of a Minneapolis-based bus company will take the reins of leading the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Governor Mark Dayton announced he appointed Charlie Zelle as Commissioner of MNDOT.
The Governor says Zelle's outstanding record in the private sector will help the state build a transportation system that will support future growth and prosperity.
Zelle served as the head of Jefferson Lines for 20 years.
He will begin his work at MnDOT on January 15, 2013, succeeding Commissioner Tom Sorel, who resigned December 1st, 2012, to become the CEO of AAA Minneapolis.
