Proctor, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A train derailment in downtown Proctor Friday night had crews working into early morning hours to clear a blocked roadway.

According to authorities, the Canadian National train came off the tracks around 6 PM Friday.

The incident resulted in the temporary closing of 2nd Street where it intersects the Proctor rail yard tracks. However, crews on scene say the train did not lose its load, and no injuries were reported.

It's still unclear what caused the derailment, though a buildup of snow on the tracks is a possibility.

Our calls to Canadian National were not returned by news time.
