Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal 4th of July Crash

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Authorities have identified a 24-year-old Rice Lake Township man as the victim in Thursday's fatal motorcycle accident in Duluth.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department said Benjamin Scott Jones collided with an SUV at Rice Lake Road and Old Highway Four near the Gnesen General Store just after 11 a.m. Thursday.

After the initial collision both vehicles crashed into a ditch on the side of the road trapping the motorcyclist beneath the SUV.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV received minor injuries.
