Cass County, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Several areas in Cass County are dealing with high water from recent rainfall.
According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, on Monday a resident in Sylvan Township reported their home being surrounded on two sides by lake water, with three feet of standing water in the basement.
Cass County's TEEN CERT Program responded and, with the help of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, spent five hours placing sandbags to stop the water.
If you have flooding issues, the Cass County Emergency Management Office has sandbags and bag filling equipment available for private property owners.
The bags can be requested by calling the Emergency Management Office at (218) 547-7437. Cass County officials say the property owner is responsible for the purchase of the sand and other materials.
