Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Due to the recent discovery of the hoarding of more than 65 cats and kittens in Duluth, Animal Allies' Northland Spay/Neuter program is offering all residents in the Twin Ports an opportunity to have their felines 'fixed' for free.

The free 'Feline Fix' events are scheduled for two fridays in November (16 and 30) and three Fridays in December (7, 14 and 21).

Animal Allies says appointments are required and space is limited.

It's been estimated that one unsterilized female cat and one unsterilized male cat and their offspring can result in a staggering 370,000 additional kittens in 7 years.

The number one reason cited by pet owners for not sterilizing is cost.
