Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) -- Charges are pending against the owners more than two dozen neglected animals on a farm just south of Superior.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department says the owners will be charged with not providing proper food, shelter, and water.

Horses, dogs, goats, and chickens were among the animals found at the farm in Foxboro Wisconsin on Saturday May 31st.

All of the animals showed signs of malnourishment and were infested with fleas, lice, and parasites.

Many of them were taken to the Douglas County Humane Society or other shelters where they are recovering.
