Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Music enthusiasts will continue to enjoy Duluth's Bayfront Blues Festival for the next few years as the city renews their contract with organizers.
City officials and festival organizers finalized the details surrounding the event's future, extending their contract through at least 2016.
“The Bayfront Blues Festival is our community’s largest, annual music event and brings worldwide attention to Duluth, so extending the festival’s park rental contract for three years was an easy decision,” said Duluth Mayor Don Ness. “Bayfront Blues Festival President Chris Mackey puts on a very well run event, and we’re looking forward to it continuing on Duluth’s Bayfront for many more years.”
“The City of Duluth as the park’s owner, and the DECC as the park’s manager, provide a great venue to help us make the Bayfront Blues Festival one of the most popular in the country,” says Bayfront Blues Festival President Chris Mackey. “Extending this contract was easy, because the Bayfront is where the Bayfront Blues Festival belongs. This event’s loyal fans can start making plans now to be back here again in 2014, 2015 and 2016.”
The 25th Annual Blues Fest runs this weekend from August 9th to the 11th at Bayfront Park.
