Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Over 100 climbers from three states were busy gripping the walls at Vertical Endeavors in Duluth, Saturday, for a climbing competition that brings out adrenaline seekers of all ages.

The North Shore Style Climbing Competition has grown exponentially since its founding eight years ago.

Started by climbers, for climbers, and 100% volunteer run, the competition brings in people from Fargo, and even as far as Winnipeg.

Categories of competition range from novice to advanced.

"I saw a 9–year–old participant, all the way up to 70 years old," said event coordinator Zach Chase. "We've got an awesome range of people just coming out, having fun, [and] being healthy."

Proceeds from the competition go toward organizations like the Minnesota Climbers Association, which works to procure land for the state's climbing community.
