Cloquet, MN (NNC NOW) - Police say the homeowner came home and discovered someone in his house Saturday night.

That's when the burglar ran from the house, but not before striking the homeowner with a pillowcase allegedly containing items he had taken from the house.

Despite being hit over the head the homeowner gave chase but police say the victim told them he stopped running when the suspect turned to yell that he had a gun.

The suspect is described as a 30 year–old Black man, 6 ft. 4 in. with a heavy build. Police say the suspect may have driven away in a red Chevy cobalt.

According to Deputy Police Chief Terry Hill, the use of traditional and social media in the search for the suspect has led to some possible leads.

"And... this release has generated a couple of leads that our investigators are following up on," said Hill.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Cloquet Police Department.
