UPDATED: Man Injured, Wife in Custody After Cloquet Shooting

Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Cloquet Police have released the victim's name of a shooting that took place over the weekend.

The victim is Richard Marjerle of Cloquet. He is being treated at Essentia Health Care in Duluth. He is in serious condition at this point.

The Cloquet Police Department is investigating a shooting which took place early Sunday morning on the 1200 block of Slate Street in Cloquet.

According to police, just before six a.m. Sunday, a male caller reported that his wife had shot him.

When police arrived, they found the 38-year-old man had been shot in the chest area.

During the investigation, police found a gun which they believe was used during the shooting.

Police took the wife into custody at the scene of the shooting. She is currently being held at the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center, waiting for formal charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
