Sawyer Township, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Cloquet man escaped death after his pick up truck collided with a train.

The accident happened near the intersection of Central Hall Road and Highway 210 in Sawyer Township just after 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Department says 74-year-old John Martin Junior lost control of his truck when it began to slide due to icy road conditions.

That's when authorities say the truck hit the side of Burlington Northern & Santa Fe train.

No one was hurt.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Department, Fond du Lac Police, Minnesota State Patrol and Carlton Fire & Ambulance responded to the crash.
