Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Caribou Coffee lovers are also helping in the fight against cancer, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Starting Saturday through Nov. 3, Caribou Coffee patrons can buy or donate a bag of Amy's Blend coffee.
Proceeds from each sale will be donated to CancerCare, a national organization that provides free, professional support to anyone affected by cancer.
Amy's Blend was created in honor of one of Caribou's first team members, Amy Erickson, who died of breast cancer at the age of 31.
Along with proceeds to CancerCare, Duluth Caribou Coffee shops will donate coffee to four organizations in Duluth: the Solvay Hospice House, Essentia and St. Luke's Cancer Centers as well as Northland troops.
"Last year was a national foundation, this year, having the money stay in the community of Duluth is making people really just open up their pocket books and buy the coffee," Emily Preus, Canal Park Store Manager said. "I think it makes a huge difference, especially in a place like Duluth where we are so community focused."
Last year, community members donated so many bags of coffee to the Solvay Hospice House, patients had coffee for one year.
This year, the Caribou Coffee in Duluth's Canal Park hopes to donate 400 pounds.
