Controversial strip club to be demolished

Scanlon, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A controversial strip club in Scanlon has closed its doors for good.

The building that housed "Sugar Daddy's" will be demolished to make way for a more family friendly business.

Plans call for a Qwik Trip gas station and convenience store to be built at the site.

Billed as a gentleman's club, Sugar Daddy's had its detractors over the years.

In 2000, a Citizen's Action Group regularly protested the business, seeking its closure.

The group has long been disbanded, but former member, Pat Turonie, says she's happy about its demise.

She stated Thursday it was a long time in coming and she is delighted with the closure.
