Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- People living on Park Point are worried about an increase in car break-ins in recent weeks.

According to the website crimemapping.com, in July, nine vehicle break-ins and eight thefts were reported within a two mile radius of Lafayette Park.

The website also says that July saw 27 crimes, a large increase compared to previous months in 2013.

Park Pointers we spoke with say they have noticed the uptick in crime in what is typically considered a relatively crime-free neighborhood.

"If I here something I'll get up in the middle of the night and look out the window to see if there's anything I notice there," said Park Pointer Bill Shipley.

Police say if you do see suspicious activity, make sure to call the proper authorities.
