Some Northlanders have begun grabbing brooms and hurling rocks – but all for a good cause.
The Superior Curling Club hosted its annual tournament fundraiser for cystic fibrosis.
The tournament first began twenty–seven years ago as a way to raise money for the club co–founder Bud Summerville's child who suffered from the disease.
While he sadly lost his struggle, the tournament has gone on to become a long–standing tradition at the club, with the public encouraged to join in.
"The Clubhouse is wide open during these tournaments. You're welcome to come down, explore the club, explore the tournament itself, and participate in the benefit any way you see fit," says Joseph Kubala, board member for the club.
Since the tournament was first created they've raised over a quarter of a million dollars.
