Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- The Damiano Center in Duluth showed off their new kitchen today.
The newly remodeled kitchen has new appliances and doubled in size.
That is not the only upgrade the 110 year old building got, a new ducts and sprinkler system also make the building more safe.
Dave Benson, Executive Director of Damiano said they served about 125,000 meals last year, and the new facility is now better equipped to handle those people.
"We've had really large numbers of people coming to us since the recession began and that has not really slacked until this messy construction project, but we expect those numbers will be that way for a long time and now we have the capacity to handle it," said Benson.
Crews will complete a new dish washing area next week.
