Dancers Cut a Rug in Honor of Willie Kruger
Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM)----Dozens of amateur dancers broke it down in a dance competition in honor of a Duluth man who died unexpectedly. Willie Kruger died in 2010 after being electrocuted when a ladder he was moving hit a powerline. From break and belly dancing to contemporary hip hop jazz, solo dancers and groups took the floor at Grandmas Sports Garden. Five judges along with nearly 200 spectators turned out for the second annual competition. Special guest performances included Thayati and Halo Music. Family and friends of Kruger say dancing was his passion. "We always have the best crowd because they come here, they want to learn how to dance, they want to see their favorite dancer dance,” Anthony Jones, MC Host said. “It's just a great opportunity." The dance competition will be held at Grandma's Sports Garden next year.
