Dangerous rip currents splashing Northland beaches

August 7, 2014 Updated Aug 7, 2014 at 1:02 PM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth Fire Department is warning the public that dangerous rip currents are striking Northland beaches: 12th St beach, Lafayette Square and Park Point beaches.

These rip currents make for life–threatening swimming conditions regardless of whatever experience level swimmers may have.

There is a warning in effect until 10 a.m. Friday with red flags flying along the beach.
