Day 3: AMSOIL Duluth National Snowcross Championship 2012
Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM) --- Officials say a big boost from some traditional post-Thanksgiving Northland weather helped make it a success. The three-day event brings in more than $5 million for the city of Duluth. Event organizers say that, not only was this the earliest the snocross event has taken place following the Thanksgiving weekend, but this year also saw the highest competitor turnout in a decade. According to AMSOIL Duluth Snocross co-founder, Terry Mattson, 30,000 to 35,000 racers and fans were expected to attend from around the world this weekend and the demographics are changing. "This year I noticed, more than ever, we seem to be bringing in younger and younger fans,” Terry Mattson, AMSOIL Duluth National Co-founder said. “It's kind of refreshing to see a younger generation of snocross enthusiasts."
