St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A deadly weekend on Minnesota's roads after five people were killed in traffic related accidents.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says so far this year there have been more than 200 deaths on the state's roads.

That's up 13 percent over this time last year.

Officials say a spike in motorcyclist deaths is one factor for the alarming increase.
