Deep snow delays opening of rest areas

(NNCNOW.com) --- Due to deep snow, it’ll be a few more weeks before several seasonal rest areas will open in the Northland.

Six, seasonal rest areas in will remain closed until Monday, April 21, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Knife River: Lake County, Highway 61, at milepost 18
Independence: St. Louis County, Highway 53, at the junction of Highway 33 and Highway 53
Cut Face Creek: Cook County, Highway 61, Schroeder, 5 miles west of Grand Marais
McGregor: Aitkin County, Highway 210, at McGregor
Big Sandy Lake Overlook, Highway 65, north of McGregor at milepost 129
Cross River: Cook County, Highway 61, at the Cross River
