Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on what they are calling a "senseless act of vandalism".
Three windows and two glass doors were broken out of the Darrow Road Wesleyan Church south of Superior over the weekend.
The incident happened sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The church has been around for 64 years and Senior Pastor Mark Holmes says this is the first time something like this has happened.
Holmes says he hopes the vandals receive help for whatever led to their destructive behavior.
"As a church, as a congregation , we talked about that Sunday morning. We forgave the people and we forgive them. We just hope that they get help and that we move on from that . As I've said before, windows and doors can be replaced, but people who are in a broken state need to be repaired and thats the most important thing of it all," said Holmes.
damage estimates to the building were about $1,000.
Holmes wants to make clear the damages were covered by insurance and the church does not need donations for repairs.
If you have any information you are asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.
