Draft Bob Dylan manuscript sells for $2M at auction

New York, NY (NNCNOW.com) - A draft of Bob Dylan’s "like a rolling stone," sold at auction in New York Tuesday for $2 million.

Sothebys, which is is holding a rock and roll memorabilia auction, called the sale a world record for a popular music manuscript.

The buyer was not identified.

The draft is written in pencil on four sheets of hotel letterhead stationery with revisions, additions, notes and doodles.

The stationery comes from the Roger Smith Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Dylan was 24 when he recorded the song in 1965.
