Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --The Duluth Chamber of Commerce has thrown their support behind Duluth public school's request for a levy.

Chamber officials encourage voters to support both measures on the ballot.

Voters will be asked to renew the current education levy which will qualify Duluth schools for $1.1 million in additional state funding.

Voters will also be asked if local education funding should increase by one point eight million, which would result in a property tax increase.

Chamber officials say a well–educated workforce is critical to the success of our businesses.

"We understand that our children's, our student's success is our community's success. If we are to compete on a national scale for talent we have to ensure that we have a strong education system here in Duluth," said Chamber Director, David Ross

Chamber officials encourage residents to get out and vote on November 5th.
