Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The money comes from a portion of the city's $8.4 million of tourism tax collections during the 2012 season.

Among the projects that will receive funding, historic Glensheen Mansion is on the list to receive $100 K for parking lot improvements.

According to the mansion's marketing director, Lori Melton, it's a much–needed improvement for the mansion, which brings in close to 70,000 people each year.

"We think it's important to have a safe parking lot, and make sure that they have a great welcome to Glensheen by being able to park their car, get out, come in, and not have to worry about any potholes," said Melton.

Other improvement projects include $200 K set aside for bathroom and deck improvements at Enger Tower.
