(NNCNOW.COM)----Several students from the Duluth East Robotics team, the Daredevils, have returned home after taking 2nd place in "overall competition" at a pre-season robotic competition over the weekend.
Students competed against others from across the state in a two day competition at the Minne Mini Regional at Prior Lake High School.
Teams built robots that were judged on how well they shot a basketball into a hoop and competed in a series of Rebound Rumble challenges.
It's part of an international program called FIRST, where students use math, science, and technology to learn about engineering, robotics, and programming.
The daredevils were also awarded the Gracious Professionalism Award.
