Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth Firefighters Local 101 is working to keep children in need warm this winter.

Firefighters are partnering with the Duluth Kids Closet to launch "Operation Warm" to raise money for children in need of winter coats.

Wednesday, the firefighters toured "Kids Closet" of Duluth and met with volunteers who will help them distribute the jackets.

The campaign hopes to distribute more than 300 American-made winter jackets.

"With our Duluth winters and kids without jackets, it's a huge need, especially with the winters we've been having. We have seen a huge need for this and it's just a great fit for us," said Dan Smith, a Duluth firefighter.

The firefighters will host fundraising events to raise donations for the jackets through December.
