DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - America has spoken and Tuesday a Minnesota singer from Eagan will move on to next week's competition on the NBC hit show, "The Voice."

The staff at Duluth Grill gathered around a small TV tonight to watch as Nicholas David learned the news.

Nicholas has not only eaten at the Duluth Grill before, but he is also a close relative of the Grill's proprietors.

"He's the nephew of Jaima Hanson, one of the owners here and actually Jaima and Tom Hanson are out there right now watching him," said Duluth Grill manager Elliot Radeke.

The manager says it was a quick decision for the couple to fly out to California and be in the audience for Tuesday's show.

Nicholas is a singer, song writer and pianist based in the Twin Cities.

His music is available on iTunes.
