Duluth Man Charged with Aiding Murder Suspect

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Duluth man has been charged with aiding a 17-year-old who is accused of murder in the death of 27-year old Bryan Starnes.

33-year-old Kenneth Johnson, the boyfriend to the mother of 17-year-old murder suspect Enrique Robert Giner III, was arrested on March 22 by the Duluth Police Violent Crimes Unit investigators.

Investigators received information about Johnson aiding the suspect after the homicide. Investigators do not believe he was at the victim's residence when the homicide occured. However, he later obstructed investigators by not providing information and providing misleading information.

He also helped Giner in selling property stolen from the victim's home and received money from the property that was sold.

He is currently being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a charge of aiding an offender by obstructing an investigation of 2nd degree murder.

Meanwhile, Enrique Giner is being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center on murder charges after police say he beat and stabbed Starnes more than 50 times.
