Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Duluth organization, called Help Portrait, is giving family portraits to Northland families in need.

They held the first ever 'Help Portrait' event in Duluth Saturday to give free portraits to families who can't afford to do so on their own.

Photographers and make–up artists donated their time, offering each person an opportunity to get their make–up done before getting their professional picture.

Organizers say it's a gesture that can mean the world to a family.

"I realized more and more how when everything is gone, all you have left is your family and to know that and come together and have something to look at and kind of feel that love and know that whatever happens you have family," said Director Kelly Foss.

Help Portrait is a nationwide event.
