Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The suspect in a shooting in Duluth's Central Hillside last week will be released from jail today without charges.

St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin confirmed that the Duluth Police Department is releasing the 70-year-old suspect pending further investigation into the incident.

The suspect was taken into custody pending charges of 2nd degree attempted murder and 2nd degree assault after he allegedly shot 48-year-old Betty Jean Grigsby in the chest.

The shooting took place on June 6 at a house along the 200 block of East 6th Street.

Grisby was taken to Essentia Health St Marys Hospital in Duluth, but spokesperson Kim Kaiser says that as of Monday, there is currently no patient listed by that name.
