Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Former Duluth school board member is helping honor the lives lost in the Sandy Hook school shooting.
Every year, Harry Welty creates a snow sculpture outside his East Hillside neighborhood home. This week he's created a tribute to the victims in Friday's tragic shootings
The creation shows a guardian angel protecting two children in honor of the teachers who gave their lives trying to save the students.
"If there was a Congressional Medal of Honor for teaching, they would all be given that award," Welty said. "They're angels for protecting children."
You can see the guardian angel snow sculpture for yourself on the corner of East 4th Street and North 21st Avenue East in Duluth.
